Autorama appoints Prestige Fleet Servicing to provide SMR services for new Extra scheme

Car and van leasing broker Autorama has appointed Prestige Fleet Servicing (Prestige) to provide the SMR services behind its new added-value Extra scheme to both business and retail customers.

Autorama is perhaps best-known for its leading multi-marque van leasing operation, Vanarama, which operates from 53 different locations around the UK and delivers around 7,500 light commercial vehicles a year to owner operators, small businesses and larger fleets.

Under the new Autorama Extra scheme, both business customers and individuals can enjoy savings on car and van tyres, vehicle rental and servicing through a series of competitive third party supplier arrangements.

Autorama has teamed up with Thrifty Car and Van Rental to provide discounted rental vehicles, while for tyres, discounts are available from Black Circles which, with over 1,500 independent tyre outlets nationwide, has the largest tyre network in the UK.

Meanwhile, Prestige will provide the scheme with its service, maintenance and repair facilities, forming another highly competitive part to the Autorama Extra portfolio.

Autorama selected East Midlands-based Prestige after considering a number of other SMR suppliers, based on the strength of its national coverage, its attractive national labour rates and the quality of its service offering.

A key factor in the decision was Prestige's highly acclaimed Unity fleet management system. This provides complete, real time transparency of a vehicle's position and progress through the SMR process, and thus helps keeps vehicle downtime to a minimum.

Prestige will be providing static and mobile SMR coverage for Autorama Extra customers, after first evaluating which is the best option to get them back on the road as quickly as possible.

Prestige has been operating in the fleet servicing arena since 2007 and now has 242 independent outlets providing low-cost, added-value servicing to fleet operators. It has a target to have around 300 outlets by the end of the year.

Prestige service centres all have industry-recognised quality accreditation, all parts used are of equivalent quality to manufacturer original equipment, and all benefit from labour rates that offer significant savings compared to main franchise dealers, plus nationally negotiated oil prices.
